Porus Embrace was created to do both. Of all the collections within Home Addition, none carries more meaning than this one. It is more than a fragrance, it is a tribute, a memory, and a way of preserving someone who shaped my life in ways words could never fully capture.

This collection is named after Porus, Manchester, Jamaica, the small rural community where my late father was born and raised. Although he is no longer here, this fragrance allows a part of him to continue living in every home it enters.

More Than a Place

When many people think of Jamaica, they imagine white sand beaches, turquoise water, reggae music, and tropical cocktails. But Jamaica is so much more than its coastline. There is another Jamaica tucked away in its hills and valleys, a quieter Jamaica. One that wakes before sunrise. One where the morning air is cool, birds announce the start of a new day, and the scent of dew-covered grass drifts through the countryside. Porus is one of those places. Located in the parish of Manchester, Porus is surrounded by rolling hills, farmland, towering trees, and endless shades of green. The roads are quieter. The pace is slower. Neighbors know one another. Time feels different there. Growing up in a rural Jamaican community often means waking before the sun, tending to the land, respecting nature, and understanding that some of life's greatest luxuries cannot be bought. Fresh air, open space, stillness, community, home. These are the memories that inspired Porus Embrace.

Honoring My Father

My father was born and raised in Porus. The values he carried throughout his life, hard work, resilience, humility, and kindness, were shaped by that community. When I began creating Home Addition, I knew I wanted the brand to stand for more than beautiful home fragrances. I wanted it to stand for legacy and family. For the people who make us who we are. Naming this collection after Porus wasn't simply about honoring where my father came from.

It was about honoring who he was. Every time someone brings Porus Embrace into their home, they're sharing in a small piece of his story. That makes this collection incredibly personal to me.

Why Green?
